## Choosing a quote path

Use the instant online quote workflow only for geometry, file types, materials, and operations that it explicitly accepts. A finalized DXF may be used for supported flat geometry, and a STEP or STP model may be used for supported flat or formed parts. Larger parts, special materials, welding, finishing, assemblies, or unsupported geometry require a custom manufacturing review.

Start a custom review with whatever is available: production CAD, a drawing, a photo or sketch, measurements, or a physical sample. When known, include material and thickness, quantity, tolerances, bend information, hardware, weld symbols, finish requirements, inspection needs, delivery location, and timing requirements. Missing information may require follow-up before Ahner can quote the project.

All file attachments and their original filenames are encrypted in the customer's browser before upload. The website uses a fresh AES-256-GCM key for every file, then protects that file key with Ahner's RSA-OAEP-4096 public key. Stored attachments remain ciphertext. For seamless staff access, Ahner's authorized service holds the matching root-controlled runtime credential and decrypts files only in memory for protected downloads; it does not retain a plaintext copy. This is not a zero-knowledge service or end-to-end encryption against Ahner's authorized service. Typed contact and project fields are protected in transit with HTTPS but are not browser-encrypted. Ahner treats customer files as confidential and does not share them unless the customer authorizes it or disclosure is legally required. An agent may submit a custom quote request only after the customer explicitly confirms the contact information and project details being sent. Submission creates a request for human review; it is not an acceptance, production commitment, price, or order. Agent submissions must include a caller-generated 256-bit lowercase hexadecimal requestToken and authorizedByCustomer=true. Reuse the same requestToken when retrying the same request; the endpoint returns the original reference instead of creating a duplicate.
